96 nuancer af støv (2017)



Due to a large administrative construction in Bentesvej, Gellerup in the spring of 2017 several tons of clay was removed from the site.
The clay contained of little interesting glacial membrans of colored clay in turquise, ironred and brown nuances. Laid out side by side in vertical strata and pressed together during the last ice age 100 - 10.000 year ago. The clay was formed 25-50 million years ago and is of older geological origin.

This display is investigating one single shovel full of clay from the site - 8 nuances of color (found in the diagram 1-8) that has been sorted, dried and pulverised to clay dust. 9-96 shows how the clay graduate in color (read horizontally) when fired to 11 different temperatures from 100-1100 degrees.
